The Plus 50 Initiative greatly values partnerships that support and advocate for students over 50 looking to reinvent their careers, enrich their lives, or give back to the community in some meaningful way. Building and nurturing collaborations with various organizations expands the reach and opportunities for plus-50 students. The Plus 50 Initiative Advisory Committee includes representative from the following organizations: Civic Ventures; Senior Corps; AARP; U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Institute for a Competitive Workforce; and American Council on Education, Lifelong Learning. Our partners advocate, support, and improve programming delivery for people 50 and older.
The Plus 50 Initiative grantee colleges have established partnerships with community-based organizations or businesses. These relationships enhance programming, promote and facilitate community awareness of programs and activities, increase access for plus-50 adults to community colleges, and support Plus 50 Initiative objectives. The colleges' community partners include organizations like senior centers, community foundations, local chapters of AARP, local SCORE chapters, local chambers of commerce, the National Park Service and the Environmental Protection Agency.
